Friday started with a lovely, but very hot walk across the city, taking in its amazing beaches and very ornate houses before stopping for breakfast at a small bakery. I then said goodbye to Sarah at the bus station and made my way to the Cathedral to get a new pilgrim’s passport, as mine is already nearly full.
Marissa and her friend Maria Jose then came to collect me, and we headed off to a place called Boo, which is perched high above Santander.
After a traditional lunch of rice and beans, while the others had a siesta, I went to the local laundromat to wash my Camino clothes properly for the first time in two weeks.
In the evening we went back into Santander and danced for several hours to a Spanish band, playing covers of Spanish pop songs, which everyone in the audience except me seemed to know very well. It was fun way to spend the last evening with my friends from La Gomera.
