Saturday, 22nd July was a rest day, but I still clocked  up 12 KM of working around Bilbao, including the Guggenheim museum, which was an absolute treat. However, after 3 hours my eyes were full, and it just wasn’t possible to look at any more amazing sculptures and art, so it was time to go to look for a beer. Standing at the traffic lights to cross the road in Bilbao I was suddenly surrounded by a chatter of hellos as Marissa and an  entourage of her family bumped into us, so we had a lovely few moments with them before setting off from Bilbao to make our way to SanJulian where we spent the night  in the shadow of an immense power station, which was oddly charming in the night sky. Before bed we enjoyed a sunset beer at La Arena beach and then settled into a good night’s sleep in a funny garden shed at the back of a hotel which appeared shut, however, slept remarkably well as the garden shed did have air-conditioning
